I am addicted to Rifle Paper Co. But honestly, who isn’t? I’ll find any excuse to send a handwritten card or note, just to relish their paper goods. Anna Bond is bringing her beautiful illustrations to life in her very first lookbook, using real flowers with the help of Brooklyn-based floral designer Amy Merrick. It’s simply perfect, isn’t it?

Mademoiselle Maurice

I’ve been following the wonderful work of French artist Mademoiselle Maurice as far back as early last summer. Her installations, made up of thousands of hand folded origami pieces, have temporarily covered several urban surfaces throughout France, Italy, Vietnam and Hong Kong. What a pleasant surprise it must be to stumble upon one her colorful creations.

Rainbow Feet

Dutch designer John Breed created this leggy installation for Breuninger’s newly opened shoe salon in Stuttgart, Germany. The vibrant and playful piece is made up of a rainbow of 145 fiberglass legs and shoes, cascading across the store’s wall. Serious eye candy for any shoe lover!

ESCHER & MENSWEAR

I tend to forget that Escher actually did other work besides drawing hands and relativity. His tessellation designs are quite beautiful – I've been wanting to pair them with something interesting for some time now.

Well I don’t know about you guys, but the street style that’s been snapped at the recent menswear shows in milan and paris have been more fascinating to me than anything else fashion related in recent weeks. The men in particular are so striking and daring in their outfit choices and sartorial combinations (though of course not “daring” at all in fashion circles – merely to ordinary folk). Sometimes I wish men who aren’t in the fashion industry would be more flamboyant and adventurous in the way they dress, without worrying about what people might think. go forth!

The Art Of Quilling

Yulia Brodskaya is a master at the art of quilling, using strips of colorful paper that is rolled, shaped and glued to create the most magnificent works of art. As much as I absolutely love her typography, as seen in Startbucks or Hermès ads, I am most impressed with her portrait series. Yulia so brilliantly challenges the limitations of traditional quilling techniques by bringing these three dimensional portraits to life. Each of her subjects have the most poignant and emotional facial expressions . . . they’re simply extraordinary!
