Mister Black

Architect and designer Guilherme Torres was invited to participate in Black Mostra, one of the most important interior design competitions in Brazil. He designed the ideal living space for a fictional young professional and art collector named Mister Black. Can you imagine hanging out in Mister Black’s cement-walled living room while he spins records on his turn tables and serves cocktails from his retro bar cart? I call the mint green peacock chair.

Little Drawers

Vintage letterpress drawers, card catalogs, printer drawers and apothecary cabinets are all perfect places to store your tiny treasures. I’ve been keeping my eye out for a letterpress drawer for a long time before I starting looking online at Etsy and Ebay. And it turns out Craigslist came to my rescue with someone giving away seven letterpress drawers for free. Bingo. Persistence is key!

Two decades later, she still works with the same Kashmiri artisans she met in her time abroad. Each pillow is meticulously embroidered by hand using the finest, hand-dyed, 3-ply New Zealand wool. Much of the work she does is custom developed for interior designers, but she does have an extensive collection of “off-the-rack” pillows and a modest assortment of scarves, furniture and rugs.
