Día de los Muertos...Be Inspired!

Día de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday that honors our ancestors and loved ones who have passed. What I love most about the Day of the Dead is that rather than being a day of mourning, it is a day of celebration. Altars are constructed and offerings are bestowed. There are plenty of festive decorations, probably the most recognizable being the skeletons (calacas) and the skulls (calaveras). With its vibrant colors and iconic designs, it’s hard to overlook this truly special holiday.

Bly

couldn't be more excited about the launch of Bly, a newly designed site that allows the wanderlust in all of us to travel and shop some of the world’s best bazaars and flea markets. Bly will visit a new city every two months, offering over 200 one-of-a-kind home goods and accessories along with profiles of various local artisans, insightful stories and street photography. This month’s premiere city is the ever so colorful and bustling Mumbai, India, and word has it that Kumasi, Ghana and Bukhara, Uzbekistan are next on the itinerary. In the meantime, I’ll be busy shopping for vintage saris, antique brass objects, and hand painted trunks . . .

Mt.Sapola

A fellow fashionista recently sent me samples of his amazing bath and body product line called Mt. Sapola.  The name comes from the mountain where soap was originally discovered through a natural process over 2,000 years ago.  Mt. Sapola has locations almost globally and make both body and home fragrance products.  Now let's get to the good stuff!

I tried several of their body products and my favorite scent has got to be lemongrass.  It is divine!

The products, soaps and shampoos, work great at cleansing and smell subtle afterwards.

I also used the lavender diffuser at home and it has a light and pleasant  long lasting scent.

In general, all products are made with natural ingredients, smell amazing and are very gender neutral.  Check out their NOLITA location for a wonderful spa experience!
